Carmina

Privacy Policy

Last updated 6 October 2026

This explains what information Carmina collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it as small as we can.

What we collect

Account details: your email address, username, and password (stored securely; we cannot read it).

What you add: your pen name, photo, bio and inspirations, and the poems and stories you write, including private drafts.

What you do: your likes, ratings, comments, follows, blocks and reports.

When you agree to our terms, we record the date and the version you agreed to.

Basic technical information needed to run the app, such as error reports and the time of requests. We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell your information.

How we use it

To create your account, show your writing and profile to others as you choose, and make features like following, ratings and sharing work.

To keep Carmina safe: reviewing reports, enforcing our rules and preventing spam and abuse.

To contact you about your account, for example to confirm your email or reset your password.

Who can see what

Public posts, your pen name, username, photo and bio can be seen by other Carmina users. Private posts can only be seen by you. Your email address is never shown to other users.

If you share a poem outside Carmina (for example as an image), whoever you send it to can see it.

Who we share it with

We use service providers to run Carmina, including a database and sign-in provider (Supabase) that stores your data on our behalf, and Apple and Google for app stores. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.

We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people from serious harm.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. If you delete your account in Settings, your profile, writing, comments, likes, ratings, follows and photo are permanently removed. Reports that others made about content may be kept for safety and legal reasons.

Your choices and rights

You can edit your profile, change your email and password, delete posts, block people and delete your account in the app.

You can ask us for a copy of your information or for corrections by emailing hello@carminapoetry.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as objecting to or restricting certain uses of your data.

Children

Carmina is not for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will remove it.

Security

We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections and access rules that limit who can read or change data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy and will tell you in the app about important changes. Questions: hello@carminapoetry.com
